Joy

And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

A continuation of the angel talking to the shepherds, who we left last week with the angel
saying, don’t be afraid. The angel tells them about the baby and where to find him.
Wrapped in swaddling clothes would be familiar; swaddling cloths were used to keep the sacrificial lambs from blemish. And there was a special dedicated cave where the ewe gave birth.
How many children are actually born in a barn or stable? Would that be hard to believe? Maybe not in light of how the announcement is being made.
And if that wasn’t enough, now there’s a host of heavenly angels. What a glorious sight that would have been. Are you seeing how important these scriptures are? Are you putting them to memory?

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: In thy presence is fullness of joy; At thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.
Advent week -The theme is Joy.

Joy, a good feeling in the soul, produced by the Holy Spirit.

Joy comes from the inside. It has nothing to do with my circumstances, but everything to do with my faith and trust in Jesus. It say in the presence is fullness of joy. Job said, though he slay me yet will I trust in him: (Job 13:15a). We’re happy when things are going good and our prayers are being answered. But when trials come, we can still have joy. We know that Jesus is with us always. (Hebrews 13:5). And because He is, we can always have a joyous attitude, even when everything looks bleak. JOY – Jesus, Others, You.
