Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, And on earth, peace, good will toward men.
The angel host singing to the shepherds about the good tidings of a Savior being born. Giving the praise to God for fulfilling His promise to send the Messiah. Peace on earth – not as we think of it – the absence of war and strife. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He came so we could have His peace and love our neighbor as ourself – goodwill toward men.
Advent, week 4 Love
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
How wonderful! God sending His only Son to die for our sins. What love! This verse says he loved the whole world, everyone. It doesn’t make a difference if you are rich or poor, or your sin is murder, adultery, a lie, or any other sin you can name. He loves us all. We need to believe on Him to accept His free gift. And therein lies the problem. We all have free will. We can accept or reject Him. He sends no one to hell. We make the choice. God is not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9).
The greatest gift is love. (I Corinthians 13:13) God is love. I John 4:16). This Love came to us as a baby, whose birth we celebrate at Christmas.
If you have never accepted Him, do it today. If you need help with that, contact this church. If you have accepted Him, Rejoice and share the good news.
