Psalm 1:3 – February Verse

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psalm 1:3

The same man from verses 1 and 2. When he keeps good company, listens to good council, and meditates on God’s word, then he shall prosper. He will be blessed by God. A tree planted by the rivers should prosper because it’s roots are deep and being watered as needed. The leaves should be rich and green, not falling off because of wind and weather.

So this young man was like that tree, secure in the Lord regardless of trials and temptations. And because of his trust in the Lord he will prosper. Not occasionally, but continuously. We have to be rooted in to Jesus as the tree was rooted into the ground.

We prosper when we are seeking and doing God’s will.
